Seung-Woo is interested in how neuropeptidergic signaling in the ventral tegmental area is critical for reward processing and motivated behavior. To investigate this, he incorporates CRISPR/saCas9 for mutagenesis and single-cell imaging techniques. Outside the lab, he enjoys biking and chatting with friends.

Dylan earned his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in Rutsuko Ito and Andy Lee’s labs, where he studied the role of the ventral hippocampus and lateral septum in approach-avoidance conflict resolution. He is currently studying how the neuropeptide neurokinin B regulates dopamine cell and release dynamics during associative learning and motivated behavior using in vivo calcium imaging techniques and CRISPR induced mutagenesis, as well as its role in social isolation induced affective disorders. Outside of the lab, he enjoys reading and cooking.

Stuber Lab Joint Student

Abi earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington, where she worked in Dr. Michael Bruchas’ lab researching amygdala-striatal circuits in appetitive and aversive behaviors. Following her graduation, she stayed at UW to join the Pharmacology graduate program. For her graduate research, Abi collaborates with the Stuber lab to investigate neural circuits involved in reward learning using two-photon calcium imaging and fiber photometry. Outside of her research, she enjoys climbing, snowboarding, and reading.

Gracy graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2021 with a Honours B.Sc. in Biology and a minor in classical, religious, and near east studies. In 2024, she received an M.Sc. in Botany from UBC. Previously Gracy studied reproductive interference in closely related plant species using ddRAD sequencing techniques. She now assists with viral production and the day-to-day lab management. In her free time she enjoys knitting sweaters, baking, and exploring Seattle on her bike!

Ella graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2024 with a BS in Bioengineering, Biotechnology. While there she did research on protein engineering for therapeutic development at the Moore Lab, and completed her senior design project at the J. Craig Venter Institute. She now works at the NAPE Center Molecular Genetics Resource Core. Outside of the lab she enjoys making pottery, reading and long distance running.
